I first worked with Believe Guatemala in 2014 with a team from Oklahoma. I knew immediately there was going to be a connection with Believe Guatemala. The passion and conviction Joel Juarez carries to see a real change in Guatemala is contagious. Believe Guatemala carries a vision to awaken the people living in the dump to break the cycle of poverty. There is so much heart behind this organization and what they are doing. They are an organization that excels in excellence and the Lord is using them in a mighty way. God has big plans for Believe Guatemala.
I chose to work with Believe Guatemala because I want to see the poverty cycle end in Guatemala. I want to see people understand that their true identity is in Jesus Christ. Believe Guatemala does an excellent job of meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of the community. You can not only address the spiritual needs of a person when their basic needs of food and shelter are not met. Believe Guatemala provides various educational programs including discipleship classes.. Believe Guatemala does a lot of work within the community to help people living in the dump to have better living conditions and to bring hope for a brighter future.
God is bringing a revival to Guatemala. “The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the LORD’s own mouth.”( Isaiah 62:2 NLT). Guatemala is ripe for harvest and He is restoring the years the locust has eaten.
